  • Challenge

Refurbished laptops have their own rhythm: customers buy both online and in store, and a serial number is only known once an order ships. Computerzaak wanted protection that felt native to its checkout, not a widget bolted onto a product page.

  • Solution

Fidamy made protection a checkout option that hands customers to a pre-filled express flow, put QR codes in every store, made Computerzaak a repair partner for claims and built a partner portal module for registering serial numbers after dispatch.

Computerzaak started in Hoogeveen in 2017 with a simple idea: high-quality refurbished computers, sold with the care of a specialist. Today it has nearly 60 people, seven stores across the Netherlands and a webshop that customers rate 9.0 out of 10.

Its customers rely on their laptops for work and study. Protection against accidents and theft is an obvious fit, as long as it is easy to understand and easy to buy.

Protection as part of the checkout

Computerzaak shows protection right where the purchase decision is made. Customers tick a box at checkout, pay for their laptop as usual and go straight into Fidamy's express flow, already filled in with their details. A few clicks later, the laptop is covered against accidental damage and theft.

Prices are shown in Computerzaak's own checkout, so the offer always looks and feels like Computerzaak. Moving from Fidamy's standard flow to the shorter express flow took a single field in the integration: no redevelopment and no new release cycle.

In every store

All seven Computerzaak stores carry QR codes on flyers and counter posters. Customers scan, choose their cover and finish on their own phone, while each sale is attributed to the right store.

Repairs by the people who know the laptop best

When a customer needs to make a claim, Fidamy handles the intake and Computerzaak's own technicians carry out the repair. The customer comes back to the brand they bought from, and Computerzaak keeps both the relationship and the repair work in house.

Built for how refurbished retail ships

A refurbished laptop's serial number is only known when the order leaves the warehouse. Rather than forcing it into checkout, Fidamy built a module in its partner portal where the Computerzaak team registers serial numbers after dispatch. A simple form replaces email back-and-forth, and the feature was shaped directly by Computerzaak's input.
